人类，如同一叶扁舟，飘浮在物欲横流的大海中，若没有清醒的头脑，足够的理智来驾驭这艘船，便很可能沉没或是迷失在茫茫大海之中，找不到出路。。Matooros（女主的嫂子）是一名社会工作者，平时只关心外面社会的事，完全没有尽到妻子和母亲的职责。而Plao（女主的哥哥),是国家政府某部门的高官，平时也只顾工作和应酬，没有时间照顾家庭。所以女主Nitima，平时除了上班之外，还要帮忙照顾哥哥的三个孩子（Pimros，Pajana，Malathip）。Matooros为了面子，经常炫耀自己权势和财力，花钱无度，但事实上其经济来源只有丈夫Plao的薪水和只存的一点积蓄。Sirin（五星级酒店老板）和Feungthong(妓院老鸨)，作为Matooros的高中同学，十分清楚Matooros的经济状况。因为平常花销大，经济入不敷出，导致Matooros脾气暴躁，对家里的佣人大呼小叫，佣人受不了，便辞职了。她便雇请了Sai的女儿Kiang，让她白天来打扫，晚上回去。因为了解到Matooros家里的情况，所以Sai和Kiang两母女都对Matooros不是很尊重。Sai还经常把Matooros家里的事到处乱说。不好的事情发生了，Nitima的侄女Pimros怀孕两个月，她来找Nitima，让Nitima带她去堕胎。Nitima不同意，便去找Plao商量。Plao和Matooros很生气，便逼问Pimros怀的是谁的孩子。Pimros被逼无奈，只好说出是Chaipon的孩子，Chaipon的父亲是富豪Dech。当Matooros知道后，便要求Pimros把孩子留下，以向Dech索求利益。事情发生后，刚好Dech出国谈生意，便由Dech的弟弟,本剧的男主角Dam来处理这件事，而这便是男女主角第一次相遇。此事导致Feungthong很不满，因为她曾经把Chooda送给Dech当情妇，还妄想让自己的妹妹Fathong和Dam订婚，因为她相信，即使男主Dam只是家族中小老婆生的儿子，依然有权利继承遗产。但是她不知道的是，自己的妹妹早就和自己的老公暗通曲款了。因为Nitima和Dam给Pimros在外面找了房子待产，Nitima还搬去和她一起住，顺便照顾她。家中少了Nitima的照顾，Kiang出入Matooros家的机会就多了起来，最终和Plao发生了不正当男女关系。Dech从国外回来，知道儿子Chaipon的事非常生气，但他看到美丽的Nitima之后，便被迷住，所以改变主意接受了Pimros。Dam知道自己哥哥花心的本质，便叮嘱Nitima要小心自己的哥哥。Chooda发觉Nitima和Dam的关系之后，非常不满，因为她早已对Dam暗生情愫。她努力亲近Dam，甚至告诉Dam，她想和他一起生活，而Dam对Chooda并无好感。Chooda很生气，便将Dam和Nitima的事告诉Dech，Dech便勒令Dam不准纠缠Nitima。Dech一心想将Dam赶出家门，他借口说Dam不过是小老婆的儿子，还诬陷说Dam和Chooda暗中私会。Dam原本就打算离开那个家，搬到自己的公寓去了。Chooda为了脱离Feungthong，便给了她一大笔钱。虽然Feungthong不满，但也不得不放手让Chooda离开，并开始筹划让妹妹Fathong成为Dech或Dam的老婆。但Fathong努力想破坏其姐姐的安排，因为虽然表面上她是温婉的女子，但背地里却和她的姐夫，Feungthong的丈夫Veera暗通曲款。Dech一心要讨好Nitima，给她买了昂贵的戒指。但Dam要求Nitima拿去还给他，导致Matooros非常生气。因为她梦想着自己的女儿成为Dech的儿媳妇，妹妹成为Dech的妻子，那她肯定就会有享不尽的好处。Feungthong来Matooros家里做客，发现了Plao和女佣Kiang之间的关系，并公布于众，Matooros非常生气，便对Kiang大打出手。但由于Kiang怀孕了，Plao便带着Kiang去了外面租房住，Matooros非常伤心，甚至吃药自杀。所以Nitima不得不回到家中照顾Matooros和其他两位侄子侄女。所以Dech便将Pimros接回家中安胎，因为他相信Nitima一定会去家里看望Pimros。虽然pimros被接回家里,但Chaipon依然不关心自己的妻子，终日外面饮酒作乐，在一次醉驾中撞死了人。Chaipon撞人事件，让Dam和Nitima再次有机会一起处理该案子。Dech非常不满Dam插手自己家里的事，尤其是看到他和Nitima亲近。Feungthong建议Matooros接受Kiang，因为这样至少让丈夫Plao回到家中。Matooros听从了其建议，但当看到Plao对Kiang的万般宠爱，却又怒极攻心。而Kiang仗着肚子里的孩子，在家里任意妄为。不久，Pimros生下了一个女儿，Kiang也生下孩子，不幸的是,kiang的孩子生下来便残疾。Plao请了人照看Kiang的孩子，却没有让孩子住在家中，反而将女儿Pimros的孩子接回来抚养。有一天,Kiang假装失手，将Pimros的孩子从高处摔落，孩子紧急被送往医院，Kiang偷了Plao一大笔钱逃跑了。Dech开始承认无法赢得Nitima的心，便再次回去找Chooda。当Chooda有了足够的证据后，便公布了Fathong和Veera的私情。Feungthong非常愤怒，开车出去寻找背叛了自己的妹妹和丈夫，到却发生了车祸，伤势严重。Veera最终选择了和Fathong一起共度余生。Kiang偷走了自己的孩子，来向Plao勒索钱财。为了要回孩子,plao不得不支付她一大笔钱。Kiang拿到钱后，便过起了奢华的生活。偶然间她遇见了Chaipon，两人一拍即合，便公开交往。Pimros终于意识到自己的失误，决定继续回去念大学。Matooros学到了教训，也定下心了，好好抚养自己的外孙女。Plao愿意为自己的错误承担一切，他们一家人终于破镜重圆。Nitima和Dam一起设计建造了一个小小的家，他们约定要建立一个温暖，互相理解的家。一起小心的掌舵着这艘名为“家”的扁舟，不让它倾覆在茫茫的人生之海！
