七集的《异形：隔离》是一部网络剧，也是史上第一部设定在《异形》世界中的数字剧集。剧情源于2014年的同名游戏，事实上大部分内容都是游戏过场动画转过来的（还有一部分是重制的和全新的），只不过给人新的体验、新的视角，也丰富了AmandaRipley故事的层次。故事设定在深空运输机「诺斯托罗莫」（Nostromo）及其船员失踪15年后。EllenRipley的女儿AmandaRipley一直没有放弃寻找母亲的希望，凡有任何消息都一查到底。魏兰德-尤坦尼（Weyland-Yutani）公司的代表主动接触Amanda，声称他们终于发现了「诺斯托罗莫」号的飞行记录仪……在太空站「塞瓦斯托波尔」（Sevastopol）上。Amanda立即决定参与他们的探索任务。但是在抵达该太空站后，Amanda意识到自己进入了一个人间地狱，一个神秘的怪物四处追猎太空站上的人。如今Amanda和一小群幸存者必须面对同样致命的威胁——异形（Xenomorph），这种令人畏惧的生物曾永远改变了她母亲的命运。今年是《异形》系列电影上映四十周年纪念，Fox举办了一系列庆祝活动——这部数字剧集和一月份推出的手机游戏《异形：封锁》（Alien:Blackout）都列属其中。虽然观看这部数字剧集并不一定需要玩同名游戏，但玩过同名游戏之后再来看这部剧集的感受肯定和「全新观众」是有差别的。
