On a remote island off the west coast of Scotland in 1846 - a heavy storm hits, causing a ship to sink. Three survivors row through a thick early morning mist, lost and disorientated. The mist begins to clear and The Isle appears before them. Once rested and recovered the sailors are desperate to leave and return to the mainland, but the promised boat never appears. 影片报告两个20岁刚出头,跟中国有些渊源的年青人重走长征路的故事。男孩名叫Benedict Short,他是中英混血,母亲是中国人,父亲是英国作家Philip Short, 曾写过「毛泽东传」。女孩名叫Margaux De Wilde,她的母亲是加拿大人,父亲是法国人。她读小学时,身为交际官的怙恃被派往北京,她的童年时间是在中国渡过的。 两位主人公在北京统一所大学进修中文,他们在这里了解!相爱。在一堂“中国近代史”课上,两人第一次听到教师讲中国长征的汗青；他们被那些昔时加入赤军长征的兵士跟历经磨练的赤军故事所震动。于是,他们决议骑着摩托车沿着昔时赤军长征的脚印,亲身去不雅赏那些故事的产生地。然而,他们的决议在最开端,遭到了男孩母亲的支持,然而终极仍是被男孩压服了,于是在他们临行前,男孩母亲给两位主人公报告了他们家庭跟长征的故事,并给了一些昔时的信物,于是两人动身了。 两人从长征的出发点江西省瑞金动身,沿路过由湖南!广西!贵州!云南!四川等省。他们特地造访昔时加入过长征的老赤军跟在长征中就义的赤军兵士的后世,听他们讲从前的故事,在昔时赤军长征经由的处所,他们碰到更多的是跟本人同龄的年青人,有艺术家!跳舞家!手工匠人!运发动等。除了碰到这些可憎的人,他们还走过都会!山间!雪山!草地,有数次被中国壮美的江山美景吸引。他们被赤军精力跟当初人的美妙生涯所沾染,看到了新中国事怎样出生,感触到新中国事怎样成为天下第二大经济体的。 本片于第八届北京国际片子节记录片单位掉掉落“特殊推举奖”。
